First ever watch to go into space
The highlight of Russian watch history started in 1961 when cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin took the first ever flight into space with a watch called "Sturmanskie", which means "navigator", and which originated from the Moscow factory. In 1964, the watches of this factory took the brand name "Poljot", which means “Flight” in Russian.
